Samka: Andoro del Trueno

1 April - 31 May 2022

Espacio O, a Platform for Contemporary Art in Santiago, Chile, presents an online exhibition of the SAMKA project by the transdisciplinary Bolivian/Chilean artist ANDORO DEL TRUENO.

SAMKA is a project of cultural exchange with representatives from different migrant communities that results in a performative installation. It consists of two main axes: the study of migratory flows and the study of ritual acts and artistic expressions that accompany them.

SAMKA creates a space for meeting, dialogue, and creation through artistic experiences. It carries a message of optimism by building connections between migrant communities through the symbolic recovery of dreams and hopes, as well as establishing a link with our ancestral roots and beliefs.

This project raises deep analytical questions about the global importance of contemporary migratory flows to bring all audiences closer together and highlight the ways in which cultures enrich each other.

The team developing the project is composed of: Andoro del Trueno, multidisciplinary artist and project leader; Joaquín Sánchez, curator of the exhibition; Andrés Vargas, sound artist and music producer; and Natalia Rubín de Celis, project coordinator.
