This collage collection is the direct intervention, page by page, illustration by illustration, of the whole Book of Birds of Amuchástegui, (Axel Amuchásteguí 1921-2002) a great Argentine illustrator of nature and animals. In an exercise of constancy, patience and confinement (they were created in the first part of the social outburst and see the public light in the midst of the Pandemic), and came to me in a magical gift form from my beloved Argentine , Vito Marquez (Thank you Vito).
I already knew the existence of the book, or rather, I had already occupied some of his illustrations in other works, let me say that my scissors already knew birds of this same family, relatives that inhabited loose pages found at random.
I placed all the pages together in my mesons, 21 wonderful portals to colonize and populate, and the cast of this exercise was made up of people: Claudio Gay, Coré, Disney and a select 50's pin ups committee.
I suppose each of these page-works became a kind of personal heraldry, ways of synthesizing frustration and turning them into badges of patience, silence, and concentration, dreaming with open eyes.
