Alfredo Da Venezia Chilean, b. 1973

Overview

The models that inspire his work are paradigms of modernity coming from design and architecture. Alfredo rescues the methodologies and lines of thought of those disciplines for his artistic operations and uses digital modeling and 3D printing as a visual resource.

Alfredo Da Venezia is a visual artist with a degree in Visual Arts from Arcis University (Santiago, Chile) and studies in Education and Pedagogy in Visual Arts from U.M.C.E. (Santiago,Chile).

He has exhibited in places such as the Museum of Modern Art of Chiloé (Castro, Chile), Spazio LOC (Capo d'Orlando, Italy), the Municipal Museum of Modern Art of Cuenca (Cuenca, Ecuador), the Anthropological and Contemporary Art Museum of Guayaquil ( Guayaquil, Ecuador), the Contemporary Art Museum (Santiago, Chile), Fototeca de Cuba (Havana, Cuba) and in various galleries in Chile and abroad.

The relationship between Art and Design has allowed him to practice both teaching and his own production, which translates into pieces of art and functional pieces of design. It has also provided him with a tool for the creation of art publications where, together with the editor and designer Sandra Hayvel, they combine the potential between aesthetics, media economy and artistic innovation.

Alfredo Da Venezia lives and works in Milan, Italy.

Statement

I define my artistic work as a militant of design and a sympathizer of architecture. The models that inspire my work are paradigms of modernity coming from design and architecture; using their methodologies and lines of thought as artistic operations.

Since 2016 I have worked in digital modelling and 3D printing with which I have created art pieces ranging from the actual printing of the model in plastic, it’s digital photographic reproduction and the elaboration of inflatable models at 1:1 scale for various exhibitions and curatorial works successfully exhibited to date in Chile, Spain and Italy.
